Upcoming Events
All scheduled upcoming events have been suspended indefinitely due to concerns surrounding COVID-19.
Recent Events
November 27:  Elementary Thanksgiving
4th and 5th grade students helped prepare and enjoyed eating a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

​November 15: Leadership Development

A group of high school students attended Ivy Tech's "Men of Excellence" conference to build their character and leadership skills.

November 7: College Visit

7th grade students participated in an I-Explore program at Ivy Tech.

November 6: College Visit

High School students toured Indiana Tech University.

November 1: USF Business Symposium

High school students will visit the Keith Busse School of Business to participate in discussions and exercises in the field of business

October  30: Financial Planning 
Junior and Senior students heard from James Cashman from Three Rivers FCU. Topics included careers, education and financing.

October 17:  College Visit
A group of High School students participated in a college Exploration Day at Huntington University. 

October 16: Elementary Field Trip

4th and 5th grade students visited the Allen County Library to see a special program about Abraham Lincoln. 

​October 15:  College Visit

Senior students had a personalized visit to Ivy Tech geared specifically to each student's interests.

​Juniors and Seniors attended the Ivy Tech Manufacturing Career Fair

​September: Class Meetings
Each High School Class has enjoyed a pizza lunch with the Post-Secondary Liaison and discussed grades and goals (academic, career and personal).

September 27: Clean the Green
Smith Academy scholars worked to clean our adopted areas including the River Greenway and Bloomingdale Park.

September 27: Elementary Field Trip
4th and 5th grade students visited WANE tv studio and learned about the news production process. They also got to observe a live newscast.

September 25: Career Fair
Juniors and Seniors attended the Ivy Tech Public Safety Academy Career Day. 


June 4 & 5: Field Day
Scholars and staff enjoyed games and activities at the Ash Centre. Thank you to the World Baseball Academy for allowing us to take advantage of their wonderful facilities!

June 3: Clean the Green

Again, the Smith Academy family and community members worked together to clean our adopted areas including the River Greenway, Bloomingdale Park and Camp Allen.

June 1: Commencement

We celebrated our graduates as they move on to the next chapter in their lives.

May 3: Clean the Green

Students, families and community members worked together to clean the portion of the River Greenway that Smith Academy has adopted. We will also cleaned and spread mulch in Bloomingdale Park which was adopted by the school as well.

March 19: Art Exhibit Visit
High school scholars visited the Phresh Laundry art exhibit at the ACPL main branch. Scholars enjoyed experiencing the creations of Theoplis Smith, a talented local artist.
