The goal of SAFE is to educate students without regard to their status as high achiever or at risk student. The educational foundation for SAFE is a basic Liberal Arts Model. By this, we mean the academic course of instruction provides general knowledge and is comprised of the arts, humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences.

Our rigorous academic curriculum will ensure that students graduate well prepared for post-secondary work. This rigor takes place in an inclusion system. All students’ individual needs are assessed and catered to through differentiated instruction. School, class, and student data is gathered, analyzed, and used to guide instructional decisions and professional learning regularly.

IDOE Report Card
Each year, the Indiana Department of Education assigns a letter grade to each school based on a standardized test administered at the end of the school year and other factors. See Smith Academy's most recent IDOE report card below.
